Zendhy and Evi Claim Criminalisation and Harassment Following Bibi Kelinci Owner Row

Jakarta — A row that went viral on social media involving Restoran Nabilah O’Brien owner Nabilah and couple Zendhy Kusuma and his wife Evi has triggered significant public scrutiny.

The issue, which began as a consumer experience, has developed into a major controversy in digital spaces. Zendhy and Evi now claim to be victims of criminalisation by the local police sector (polsek) and cyber-attacks on social media following the emergence of the case.

According to Zendhy, the row originated from their personal experience as consumers at a restaurant owned by Nabilah, which was subsequently posted online and prompted various reactions from netizens.

He believes that what initially amounted to a consumer experience shared on social media has instead escalated into a disproportionate legal process. Beyond facing legal proceedings, Zendhy and Evi claim to have been targeted by various attacks on social media. A wave of negative comments, insults, and personal attacks described as cyberbullying has exacerbated the situation.

Evi stated that pressure from social media has been emotionally taxing for her. “We did not anticipate the situation would develop to this extent. The comments received were numerous and largely hostile in nature. This has left us feeling under pressure and experiencing emotional trauma,” Evi said.

According to them, the situation has also affected their personal lives and reputation in society. “We hope for a more fair understanding of what actually occurred. After everything we have experienced, we certainly hope there will be restoration of our good name,” she said.

She also hopes that the legal enforcement process can proceed objectively and consider all existing facts. “We are simply seeking justice. We hope this matter can be viewed clearly and proportionally,” Zendhy said.
