Yuvita, Victim of Abuse Left Blind and Facially Disfigured, to Undergo Plastic Surgery
Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29), the victim of confinement and abuse perpetrated by Taufik Hidayat which left her with facial damage and blindness, has commenced her recovery at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. The West Java Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A) disclosed that Yuvita will undergo plastic surgery due to the condition of her damaged face.
Head of DP3A West Java, Siska Gerfianti, stated that visitors coming to see the victim are being restricted to ensure a swift recovery. However, Siska noted that the victim is now able to communicate considerably more. “She is communicating, but not extensively, and for now we hope she gets plenty of rest to recover her physical and psychological condition,” she said on Monday (22/6/2026) after visiting the victim at RSHS alongside West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
She explained that Yuvita was initially examined at Ujungberung Hospital before being referred to RSHS Bandung. Police have also visited the victim since 12 June 2026. Siska stated she immediately contacted several parties, including the West Java special legal aid team and the West Java Regional Police, to oversee the case, as well as coordinating with Bandung Regency, which is the victim’s domicile.
She mentioned that the victim will undergo reconstructive plastic surgery due to the damage to her face. However, this will take time and will not be accomplished in just one operation. “Before reaching that stage, there will certainly be recovery phases given her current condition, so that later, once she is ready, the reconstruction can be carried out,” she said.
Regarding the police investigation, she confirmed that it is being handled by law enforcement officials, including matters pertaining to the official examination report of the victim.
