Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra has urged alumni of the Islamic Students Association (HMI) to maintain their bonds of kinship and solidarity, despite coming from diverse professional, bureaucratic, and ideological backgrounds.

Speaking at a gathering, community walk, and discussion organised by the HMI Family Community (KB-HMI) in Jakarta on Sunday (23/8), he noted the strong sense of family and brotherhood among fellow HMI alumni that transcends the boundaries of work, bureaucracy, politics, and other divisions.

“I think this is something that must be preserved and maintained,” Yusril said, as confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He expressed appreciation to all parties who initiated and supported the event, and voiced hope that the gathering would provide benefits while strengthening the contribution of the HMI alumni family to society and national development.

“Hopefully this event is not merely a walk and discussion, but can also enhance fellowship among us, the alumni and the extended KAHMI family,” he said.

The community walk, which started and finished at the Blue Field of the Ministry of Law, served as a momentum to strengthen ties among HMI alumni while exchanging views on legal development in Indonesia.

The event also included a blood donation drive attended by 363 people and a book donation initiative involving 568 participants as part of its social activities.

Also present were Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Andika Dwi Prasetya, Deputy for Legal Coordination Nofli, senior officials within the ministry, and HMI alumni from various regions across Indonesia.
