Yusril reveals that the Police Reform Acceleration Commission's report runs to thousands of pages
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra has revealed that the Police Reform Acceleration Commission has completed its report, which runs to thousands of pages. The plan is for the commission’s report to be handed to President Prabowo Subianto. He said there are at least several reports to be delivered, namely one of thousands of pages, one of around 100 pages, one of 16 pages, and a three-page report. After the report is handed to Prabowo, the Police Reform Acceleration Commission will present recommendations for improvements to the policing institution. “So for now we cannot say anything about what has been achieved or what has been formulated by the Police Reform Acceleration Commission,” Yusril said. The final plenary session, he clarified, was held a few days ago and produced the final conclusions of the Commission’s work. Yusril said all books and documents related to the recommendations to be handed to Prabowo have been printed and bound. The Police Reform Acceleration Commission has itself completed its recommendations for President Prabowo Subianto, drawn from various public aspirations. “Around eight Perpol and 24 Perkap must be revised so that they can serve as a basis for ongoing long-term internal reform,” Jimly said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (5/3/2026). The schedule for a meeting between Prabowo and the Commission is being arranged. “The State Secretary and Cabinet Secretary will arrange it, aiming to hold it before Lebaran. Yes, because he is very busy at the moment,” Jimly added.
