JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, has affirmed that the government has no plans to issue a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) on economic crimes.

He made this statement in response to numerous questions directed at him regarding the Perppu.

“I want to emphasise that the government has absolutely no plans to issue a Perppu related to economic crimes, which has frequently been asked about,” Yusril said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).

Yusril said he had already clarified this issue with several relevant ministers.

He did not stop there, also inquiring about the policy with the State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi.

“It turns out there is none. The State Secretary also said there has never been any government intention to issue a Perppu on economic criminal acts,” he stated.

Meanwhile, regarding the Draft Law (RUU) on Countering Disinformation and Foreign Propaganda, Yusril stated that there has been no further discussion in the government.

“Not yet. Not at all,” Yusril explained.

A Perppu is typically issued in situations of compelling urgency.

This legal framework is a subjective authority of the President when the state faces an urgent need to resolve issues quickly.
