Yusof risks ban in rival event

JOHOR BARU, Malaysia (AFP): Nazamuddin Yusof will be the only
Malaysian taking part in the Asian PGA Tournament Players
Championship at Johor Baru from today.

And he will risk being banned by his home PGA for taking part
in the third leg of the new Asian PGA Tour which is in a growing
dispute with the rival Asia Pacific Golf Confederation.

The Malaysian PGA (MPGA) has decided not to sanction the event
as it is linked to a different promotion agreement. The MPGA has
threatened to ban members if they compete at the Tanjong Puteri
Golf Resort in Johor Baru.
