TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: President Susilo bambang yudhoyono has ordered the outgoing Finance Minister Sri Mulyani to prepare a precise financial and budget plans for the next four years until 2014, that will facilitate sustainable taxation reform, government programs, and debt management until 2014.
After a cabinet meeting at the State Palace on Tuesday (11/5) Sri Mulyani said the president demanded comprehensive and highly accurate budget projections from 2010 and 2014 which incorporate the economic, social, and political aspects. “Meaning (the outlook) should come in accurate form completed with critical evaluation on the existing programs.
Specifically Yudhoyono had demanded for budget plans which would ensure economic growth, public protection, balanced and meticulously calculated subsidies for fuel, electricity, fertilizer, and food, allow priority spending for health and military sector, and compatibility with regional budget.
Sri said the president wanted her department to prepare optimized budget plans for every department that would reduce failure probability on every project in all departments. Yudhoyono also reminded Sri Mulyani to leave his government with a sensible debt management plans before she leaves for her new post this June.
Yudhoyono reiterated Finance Department to continue tax reform in the department, particularly on how to correct the corrupt tax directorate without punishing the whole institution.
