YTR's Recovery Expected to Take One Year

The victim of alleged false imprisonment and abuse by Taufik Hidayat, identified as YTR, is currently undergoing treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. Although her condition is beginning to show positive development, her recovery process is expected to take quite a long time. RSHS President Director Rachim Dinata Marsidi stated that the medical team is currently prioritising the treatment of the infection YTR is suffering from. After that, the victim will undergo a series of treatments to restore her physical condition, which is estimated to take up to a year. “So, this month we are still focusing on eliminating the infection, and we have made a schedule that could take up to a year for all the improvements,” he said. Rachim explained that the recovery process is expected to take a long time because the injuries she sustained were not only to her face. According to him, the condition of the victim’s legs is also impaired, requiring gradual treatment and rehabilitation. “Because it is not just the face; the movement of her legs is also affected. So we have scheduled that within the next year, it can be resolved,” he said. Regarding the surgery plan, Rachim said the team of doctors is still prioritising treating YTR’s infection. According to him, surgery cannot be performed until the infection is completely resolved because it could hinder the healing process. “This month we are still focusing on the infection. If it is not completely resolved, we cannot operate because it will not heal. By the second week, it had subsided but is not yet completely resolved,” he said. On the same occasion, Rachim also conveyed that the West Java provincial government had deposited IDR 1 billion at RSHS Bandung on 30 June to finance YTR’s treatment process. Meanwhile, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi revealed that the provincial government will continue to assist YTR’s healing process. “It was conveyed earlier that the West Java provincial government will accompany her until she recovers,” he said. For information, a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is suspected to be a victim of a case of false imprisonment and abuse by her boyfriend. The woman with the initials YTR was allegedly confined by the perpetrator, with the initials Taufik Hidayat, in a boarding room and was reported missing by her family for three years.
