YTR's Recovery Expected to Take One Year

The victim of alleged confinement and physical abuse by Taufik Hidayat, YTR, is currently receiving treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung. Although her condition is showing signs of improvement, the recovery process is expected to take a considerable amount of time.

The President Director of RSHS, Rachim Dinamente Marsidi, stated that the medical team is currently prioritising the treatment of infections suffered by YTR. Following this, the victim will undergo a series of treatments to restore her physical condition, which is estimated to take up to one year.

“So, for this month, we are still focused on eliminating the infection, and we have created a schedule that may span up to a year for full recovery,” he said, as quoted from a YouTube broadcast on Thursday, 2 July 2026.

Rachim explained that the recovery process is expected to be lengthy because the injuries are not limited to the facial area. According to him, the victim’s leg has also been affected, necessitating gradual medical intervention and rehabilitation.

“Because it is not just the face; there is also an issue with leg movement. Therefore, we have scheduled the next year to ensure everything is resolved,” he said.

Regarding surgical plans, Rachim noted that the medical team is still prioritising the management of YTR’s infections. He stated that surgery cannot be performed until the infection is fully resolved, as it could hinder the healing process.

“This month, we are still focusing on the infection. If it is not fully resolved, we cannot proceed with surgery because it will not heal properly. By the second week, it has subsided, but it is not entirely gone,” he added.

On the same occasion, Rachim also announced that the West Java provincial government deposited Rp 1 billion at RSHS Bandung on 30 June to fund YTR’s medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, revealed that the provincial government will continue to support YTR’s healing process.

“It has been stated that the West Java provincial government will accompany the process until recovery,” he said.

As background information, a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is alleged to be the victim of confinement and abuse by her partner. The woman, identified by the initials YTR, was allegedly held captive by the perpetrator, identified as Taufik Hidayat, in a boarding house room and was reported missing by her family for three years.
