Jakarta (ANTARA) - Yayasan Tunas Bakti Nusantara (YTBN) believes that the development of basic services in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions requires support and collaboration from various parties, as the needs of communities in these areas remain diverse.

“Because that (collaboration) is indeed what is most needed. That is why we are present there,” said YTBN Secretary Assed Lussak during a media briefing in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Assed explained that there are three fields of focus for YTBN in 3T regions: infrastructure to support community welfare, healthcare, and education.

In the field of education, he continued, YTBN focuses on primary and junior high school levels, including projects such as renovating school buildings.

In the healthcare sector, YTBN builds facilities known as ‘Puskesmas Pembantu Plus’ or ‘Pustu Plus’, featuring a healthcare service concept that covers the community from infants to the elderly.

“So, all services are available. From maternal and child health, infant delivery, to elderly check-ups, everything is included,” he said.

He noted that the construction of these healthcare facilities also requires the involvement of various parties, such as local governments, to ensure that services can continue running after construction is complete. For instance, regarding the Pustu Plus facilities, YTBN enters into agreements with local governments to ensure the availability of healthcare personnel.

“That is why we ensure the places we choose are those where the government is willing to accept them. Because the impact will be felt within their regions,” said Assed.

Additionally, he stated that collaboration is also undertaken to meet more specific community needs, including the provision of water sources in areas experiencing limited access to clean water.

In its implementation, YTBN partners with various parties, ranging from local governments and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to donors. Such support is necessary because the development of basic services in remote areas requires not only infrastructure but also service sustainability and resource support.

He added that needs in each region are not always the same, so the approach taken must be adjusted to the local community’s conditions. Therefore, he noted that the involvement of various parties is considered essential so that the development undertaken can address community needs more comprehensively.
