YouTuber Putu Reza Surprised, Malvin Had Already Predicted: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Review
SAN FRANCISCO — The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has now become Samsung’s flagship smartphone following its official launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event on 25 February 2026.
Two Indonesian gadget review YouTubers, Putu Reza and Malvin Nathaniel, who attended the device launch, tested the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for several days.
According to Putu Reza, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra delivers quite significant improvements. These improvements also effectively dispelled his initial assumptions before the device was released.
“Actually, I wasn’t expecting much, given that Samsung typically delivers incremental improvements. However, it turned out the upgrades were good, even though on paper they seemed insignificant,” said Putu Reza.
“The dynamic range looks better and wider, especially compared to the previous model. The performance is also snappy, particularly since I enjoy gaming,” Putu Reza explained, describing his experience with the Galaxy S26 Ultra for content creation and playing Zenless Zone Zero.
Unlike Putu Reza, who said the Samsung S26 Ultra exceeded his expectations, gadget reviewer Malvin Nathaniel had projected Samsung’s flagship improvements based on various leaks circulating online.
Malvin stated that the Galaxy S26 Ultra matched his projections. Especially after he tried the device himself.
For example, regarding design, Malvin felt that the Samsung S26 Ultra’s design felt more comfortable in hand. Its camera was also deemed improved compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
“The Samsung S26 Ultra’s camera quality is better. Even the selfie camera is brighter, capturing more light like the rear camera. Samsung has added more features and improved them,” said the gadget reviewer behind the Best Indo Tech YouTube channel.
Some of the camera feature additions Malvin referred to include LUTs available in the log video feature, expert RAW supported by reflection, and more varied portrait lighting modes.
From the various features and improvements the new Samsung device brings, Malvin considered the Privacy Display feature to be the most personally useful to him.
Privacy Display is a feature that darkens the screen when viewed from the side or from an angle other than directly facing the user. This prevents the display from being easily seen by others.
“If we use anti-spy tempered glass, we can’t do that. Sometimes photos get blurred from the glass layer. With Privacy Display, we can turn it off whenever we want,” Malvin explained.
