YouTube creator Gean Kelana is alleged to have been intimidated while reporting on the Wisata Air Kalimalang project beneath the Becakayu toll road in South Bekasi District, Bekasi City, West Java on Friday (29 May 2026).

The incident went viral on social media after a video surfaced showing an argument between Gean and a man identifying himself as Gondo at the project site.

In the circulating video, Gean was seen recording construction activities at the Wisata Air Kalimalang area.

Gean stated the man allegedly threatened him, including threatening to burn his motorbike used to travel to the site.

“After receiving threats, I did not rush away. I moved away from my motorbike as it was threatened to be burned and I was chased,” Gean said in a message to Kompas.com on Monday (1 June 2026).

However, a day after the video went viral, the man identifying as Gondo met Gean at the Wisata Air Kalimalang site to issue a direct apology.

He also apologised for his actions and words deemed to contain intimidation.

Gean said he accepted the apology and chose to resolve the matter amicably.

“Yes, I forgive him. Because it went viral anyway. His family was also affected mentally,” Gean said.

He noted there have been restrictions on reporting activities at the project site, raising questions among the public.

“My main aim is to keep recording regardless of circumstances when being harassed, even if the camera is seized, so the public knows that external security (ormas) is hired by the project contractors,” Gean said.
