YouTuber AM Claims Temporary Paralysis After Inhaling 'Whip Pink'
The Directorate of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Police has questioned two individuals in connection with alleged misuse of nitrous oxide (N2O) gas, known as ‘Whip Pink’. One of them is YouTuber AM, who claimed to have experienced temporary paralysis and fallen down stairs after consuming Whip Pink.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso of Bareskrim’s Narcotics Crimes Directorate stated that AM was interviewed today, admitting to using Whip Pink from January to March 2026.
“AM reported that the use of N2O gas branded ‘Whip Pink’ likely affected his health, requiring intensive treatment at a hospital in Tangerang,” Brigadier General Eko said in a statement on Friday (29 May 2026).
AM recounted being rushed to hospital after suddenly losing control of his limbs, particularly his legs.
“The symptoms AM experienced when taken to hospital included loss of bodily control, especially in the legs. He suffered temporary paralysis and fell down his staircase,” Eko explained.
AM is currently undergoing recovery from severe effects believed to stem from N2O use. According to his testimony, he first encountered Whip Pink at a nightlife venue in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. The product was sold in balloon form.
He later ordered it independently via Instagram, directed to a WhatsApp admin for personal consumption.
Eko noted that AM’s condition aligns with expert testimony from the Ministry of Health, which states that inhaling N2O without medical supervision can damage the nervous system.
“The effects can lead to peripheral neuropathy—damage to peripheral nerves outside the brain—causing numbness, tingling, and loss of coordination,” Eko added.
Investigators have also questioned another witness, identified as CD. CD revealed the distribution method involved masking search terms as “whip cream” on search engines.
“After searching with these keywords, consumers are directed to a WhatsApp admin, complete an order form, and receive delivery within an hour,” Eko explained.
CD admitted to ordering the product more than five times.
Three Witnesses Fail to Appear for Questioning
Bareskrim Police summoned five witnesses, including a social media-famous influencer, but only CD and AM responded. The remaining three—RV, APG, and ZNM—failed to appear twice without confirmation. Police will now issue compulsory summonses for them.
“Those who continue to ignore summonses will face a warrant for compulsory attendance,” Eko said.
The case began with a raid on a Whip Pink N2O production site in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, where hundreds of ready-to-distribute gas canisters were seized.
The raid on 13 April 2026 was conducted by Subdirectorate III of Bareskrim’s Narcotics Crimes Directorate after receiving information about the product’s distribution in Kemayoran. A team led by Commissioner Awaludin conducted the operation.
Searches took place at a shop-house in Gang Mantri, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, and a warehouse in a shop-house on Rajawali Selatan Raya Street, RT 1/RW 6, Gunung Sahari Utara, Pademangan District, North Jakarta. Hundreds of Whip Pink canisters were confiscated.
Investigators believe all five summoned witnesses are consumers of the production site, with one suspected of purchasing hundreds of times.
