Youth Reminded to Act as Guardians of Democracy and Drivers of the Nation

The Secretary General of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Muhammad Kholid, has expressed appreciation for all committee members and participants who successfully organised the series of events commemorating the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Kholid stated that these activities serve as a form of creativity and gratitude from PKS in celebrating the anniversary of independence.

“Thank you to all participants involved in making this 81st Independence Day celebration on 17 August a success. Thank you for the creativity shown by all participants and the committee who organised and enlivened our independence day,” Kholid said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

A variety of activities were held, ranging from a Virtual Run, ‘Merdeka Tertawa’ Stand-Up Comedy, 81 Living Legends, the Run For Independence Day (RFID) 81 KM, to a traditional Wayang Kulit puppet performance. Kholid expressed hope that this spirit would serve as an expression of gratitude for independence, as well as a prayer for Indonesia to become increasingly advanced, just, and prosperous.

“May our nation become more advanced, more just, and more prosperous, not only for individual families but for all living beings in Indonesia,” he added.

Meanwhile, the General Treasurer of PKS, Noerhadi, noted that the series of activities, which began even before August, proved that large-scale events can be organised using a ‘low budget, high impact’ concept.

“Organising a large event does not necessarily require a large budget,” said Noerlam.

Noerhadi expressed hope that this spirit would inspire the emergence of new heroes known for their struggle and sincerity. “Since these 17th of August activities are related to heroism, may we become new heroes, as heroes are known for their struggle and their sincerity,” he concluded.
