Youth in Serang Dragged by Residents to Serang Police Headquarters After Raping an Underage Girl

A 23-year-old man identified as TA, a resident of Kibin in Serang Regency, was hauled by residents to the Serang Police Headquarters. The man is alleged to have raped a 15-year-old girl.

The residents are the victim’s family who arrived at the Serang Police Headquarters on Thursday evening (26 February) to report the incident and request that TA be detained for raping the victim.

The head of the Serang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Andi Kurniady ES, outlined the chronology of the rape. According to Andi, on Wednesday (25 February), the victim was contacted by a friend, a girl with the initials M. M invited the victim to accompany her to visit her boyfriend’s house in Nambo Ilir, Kibin.

At that location, the victim met three men who were not known to her previously, one of whom was TA. When the other friend left, the perpetrator approached and forced the victim to have sexual intercourse.

“That is when the offender raped the victim,” Andi said on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

Andi noted that the victim remained at the house until Thursday (26 February). The victim’s family, concerned, eventually found the victim at that house.

“After the victim told her family what had happened, the family did not accept it. About three people from the victim’s family immediately took the suspect to the Serang Police Headquarters.

“Currently, investigators are still questioning the suspect. If proven, the offender faces charges under Article 473(2)(b) and/or Article 415(b) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Penal Code,” Andi concluded.
