Youth from West Bandung Regency Arrested for Assembling Bombs; Police Seize Bullets, Weapons, and Arrows

A young man from Ciwaruga Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java, identified by the initials MSA (25), has been arrested by police for allegedly assembling and conducting tests on explosives. He was apprehended at his home on Friday (11/09/2026).

Following a search of his residence, police discovered firearms and explosive materials. In addition to manufacturing explosives, the suspect was identified as an active participant in a WhatsApp group known as the ‘True Crime Community’.

Local resident Endang Supriatna recounted the moments leading up to the arrest. He noted that police had visited his house several times over the preceding month to inform him of the planned operation to secure MSA.

During the search, Endang remained outside the house. He observed that the police spent a significant amount of time searching the premises, particularly on the second floor, which served as the headquarters for MSA’s illegal activities.

Endang witnessed several pieces of seized evidence being laid out in the courtyard of the local village mosque. The items included weapons, books, and other materials related to MSA’s activities that pose a threat to public safety.

“I saw the evidence spread out at the mosque courtyard. There were pot bombs, bullets, the barrel of a long-barreled weapon, and arrows,” said Endang.

Endang confirmed that the arrest regarding terrorism activities and bomb-making had caused significant commotion and anxiety among local residents. While rumours regarding MSA and his family continue to circulate, the initial widespread panic has begun to subside.
