JAKARTA - Financial literacy is considered one of the essential provisions for the younger generation amid the rising use of digital financial services.

The online lending platform Kredit Pintar states that understanding financial management and the risks of digital financial services needs to be strengthened, particularly among young people who are now increasingly familiar with financial technology.

Head of Risk at Kredit Pintar, Revana Aryani, said that financial education is an important part to encourage society not only to have access to financial services but also to understand how to use them wisely.

According to her, the use of digital financial services among young people continues to increase. However, not all users understand the risks and how to use those services properly.

‘Therefore, we want to invite students to understand the importance of personal financial management from an early age, recognise risks in using digital financial services, and make rational and responsible financial decisions,’ said Revana.

Kredit Pintar records that the customer segment aged 18 to 23 years reached 15 percent throughout 2025. The company assesses that this age group is one of the significant users in the digital financial services ecosystem.

‘In line with the company’s focus on strengthening financial literacy for the younger generation, Kredit Pintar notes that the customer segment aged 18 to 23 years is one of the quite significant user groups in the digital financial services ecosystem. Internal data shows that this age group reflects the high adoption of financial technology among young people, while also underscoring the importance of ongoing education so that the utilisation of online lending services is done wisely, measurably, and responsibly,’ said Puji.

From a business perspective, Kredit Pintar records loan disbursements in the Special Region of Yogyakarta reaching Rp 55 billion throughout 2026. Meanwhile, total disbursements on Java Island reached Rp 2.5 trillion.

Meanwhile, throughout 2025, the company recorded loan disbursements of more than Rp 9.5 trillion. Since its establishment in 2017, the total accumulated loans disbursed have reached more than Rp 63 trillion.

Puji said that collaboration between industry players, regulators, and educational institutions is needed to build a healthy digital financial ecosystem.

‘Through collaboration between AFPI, Kredit Pintar as a member of the Pindar platform, OJK, and educational institutions, it is hoped that a healthier, safer, and more sustainable digital financial ecosystem will be created among Indonesia’s younger generation,’ he stated.

The financial literacy education is carried out through the Pindar Mengajar: Cerdas Mengelola, Bijak Bertransaksi event held by the Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (AFPI) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
