The younger generation is being encouraged to provide digital solutions to address various challenges within the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem. This initiative is realised through the ‘Digital Entrepreneurship Challenge & Incubation 2026’ programme, organised by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) alongside the Goodstarter Foundation.

The final round of the programme took place in Jakarta on Monday (5/10/2026). Five top teams presented their business development results after undergoing a series of idea selections, online showcases, public voting, and intensive mentoring.

Heru Muara Sidik, a member of the BPKH Supervisory Board, stated that the incubation programme does not end with the competition of ideas. Participants also receive mentoring to strengthen business capacity, ranging from product validation and technological readiness to operational capabilities.

“We want to provide space for the younger generation to transform ideas into concrete solutions. They learn to identify field problems, test ideas with real users, and design business models capable of sustainable growth without sacrificing service quality,” Herigu said in a press release on Monday (5/10/2026).

According to him, this process is essential to ensure that the ideas generated do not remain merely as innovations on paper. The developed solutions are expected to meet user needs while maintaining a sustainable business model.

Harry Alexander, a member of the BPKH Executive Body, added that digital entrepreneurship in the Hajj sector must stem from the actual needs of the community. Therefore, the aspect of utility is one of the key elements emphasised in the programme.

“The most important thing is not just winning the competition, but how this incubation process shapes entrepreneurial mindset, team adaptability, and the integrity to present solutions for the challenges of the modern Hajj and Umrah ecosystem,” said Harry.

The judging panel evaluated participants based on several aspects, including technical feasibility, financial projections, partner validation, and social impact. Based on these evaluations, three main winners and three favourite winners were determined.

First place was awarded to ‘KIBLAT’, which developed a fintech linkage for micro-rural Hajj savings based on Sharia cooperatives or BMT. Second place went to ‘HaramainCare’ from the Bismillah Menang ITS team, featuring a pilgrim health coordination system based on multi-level exception monitoring involving Karu, Karom, and TKHI.

Meanwhile, ‘HajjTrack’ from PT Vidhara Tekno Solusindo secured third place. The team offers an integrated digital operating system for pilgrim safety, utilising IoT wearables and a command centre.
