Youth Assembly Encourages Commitment to Expanding Job Opportunities for the Young Generation
The Youth Assembly (Rembuk Pemuda) held an audience with the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, Cris Kuntadi, at the Ministry of Manpower office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 30 June 2026. During the meeting, the Youth Assembly affirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Ministry of Manpower in supporting various strategic programmes to accelerate the employment sector, particularly in enhancing the competence and readiness of the young generation to enter the workforce.
The audience, led directly by Youth Assembly Founder Aidil Pananrang alongside the organisation’s board, served as a moment to strengthen synergy between the government and youth organisations in addressing employment challenges, especially the mismatch between graduate competencies and industry needs.
‘Organisationally, the Youth Assembly fully supports the various programmes to be implemented by the Ministry of Manpower, especially the 2026 National Internship Programme. This programme is a concrete step in empowering the young generation while providing a space for young people to gain work experience and improve competencies aligned with industry needs,’ said Aidil Pananrang.
Aidil stated that the increasingly dynamic changes in the world of work demand cross-sector collaboration to ensure the young generation possesses relevant skills and can adapt to industry requirements. According to him, today’s employment challenges are not only about the availability of jobs, but also about how to build an ecosystem capable of matching young talent with the needs of the business and industrial world.
‘We encourage long-term collaboration between the Ministry of Manpower and the Youth Assembly. This is an important step to strengthen the bridge between the education sector and industry. Young people must continue to improve the skills required by the world of work, while the government has a strategic role in facilitating various initiatives and opening access for the young generation to develop,’ Aidil explained.
On the occasion, Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Cris Kuntadi welcomed the Youth Assembly’s commitment to supporting the strategic agenda of improving youth competence. He emphasised that the various programmes developed by the Ministry of Manpower are part of the government’s efforts to address employment challenges while ensuring the fulfilment of the constitutional mandate.
According to Cris Kuntadi, efforts to develop the employment sector are not only oriented towards providing jobs, but also ensuring that the public, especially the young generation, has access to decent work opportunities, competency improvement, and sustainable career development.
