Jakarta — Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir has confirmed that cash bonuses for high-performing athletes at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games will be identical to those awarded to SEA Games 2025 medallists.

"The ASEAN Para Games bonus amounts are the same as what we gave to SEA Games 2025 medallists," Erick told reporters in Jakarta on Friday.

He revealed that he had already submitted the bonus proposal for ASEAN Para Games athletes and was now awaiting government approval and disbursement.

"We are waiting, and the President is currently abroad. God willing, there will be a response in the near future," Erick said.

At the 2025 ASEAN Para Games held in Thailand from 20 to 26 January 2026, Indonesia brought home 392 medals comprising 135 golds, 143 silvers and 114 bronzes. The medal haul placed Indonesia second in the final standings of South-East Asia's largest multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities.

Based on the bonus amounts for SEA Games 2025 medallists set out in Youth and Sports Ministerial Decree No. 219/2025, individual gold medallists receive Rp1 billion, silver medallists Rp315 million and bronze medallists Rp157 million.

Doubles athletes who win gold receive Rp800 million, silver Rp252 million and bronze Rp126 million. Team sport athletes who win gold receive Rp500 million, silver Rp220.5 million and bronze Rp110.25 million.

Meanwhile, bonuses for individual or doubles coaches whose athletes win gold amount to Rp300 million, whilst team sport coaches receive Rp400 million.
