Young People Face Cholesterol Problems as Indocare Citrapacific Launches Herbal Remedy Made from Natural Extracts
JAKARTA — Fast-paced urban life, high-fat diets and limited time for physical activity are often contributing to metabolic problems emerging among younger people. Imbalanced blood-fat or cholesterol levels are no longer an issue exclusive to older age groups.
Modern medicine also continues to stress that assessing blood-fat health should not rely on just one indicator. Accurate management of a blood lipid profile requires attention to four indicators: total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL.
In response to this health trend among urban communities, PT Indocare Citrapacific, part of PT Konimex, has introduced Holisticare Cholfree. The herbal cholesterol product adds to the Holisticare range, previously known for daily health supplements including Holisticare Ester C, Holisticare FIT, Holisticare D3 1000 and Holisticare Biocalci.
According to data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), rising cholesterol prevalence among people of working age is a trend warranting attention. The condition often goes unnoticed because it can be hidden in its early stages.
“Daily demands often mean people forget to monitor their blood-fat health. With Holisticare Cholfree, we want to offer a practical and trusted solution so people can remain active without worrying about long-term risks,” said Jani Sartana Bruinier, Head of the Group Brand Consumer Department at PT Indocare Citrapacific, in a press release on Wednesday (28 October 2026).
Holisticare Cholfree is an herbal cholesterol product made from natural extracts whose benefits have long been recognised in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, and which the company says is supported by modern research journals. Its “4-in-1” benefits are said to include helping to lower total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL (bad cholesterol), while raising HDL (good cholesterol).
Dr Oscar Wiradi Putera, Medical Scientific Support Supervisor at PT Indocare Citrapacific, emphasised the importance of early prevention. “A multi-mechanism approach using natural ingredients offers a very good preventive alternative to protect blood vessels from the future risk of plaque formation,” he said.
In addition to its stated four-in-one cholesterol-management benefits, the company says Holisticare Cholfree does not cause side effects associated with some chemical medicines, such as depletion of CoQ10, which can lead to muscle pain, or increased blood sugar. It also says the product may reduce the risk of plaque formation in blood vessels. The product is presented as a supportive care option made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, meeting BPOM regulatory standards and holding halal certification, while also adhering to pharmaceutical standards and being supported by scientific research. The company says this is intended to provide consumers with effective and safe benefits.
The recommended use is two film-coated caplets daily, alongside a healthy lifestyle. Results or improvements may vary between individuals and can be assessed through laboratory blood tests.
