Young artists dominate 'MTV' 2003 Award

Young artists in the country's entertainment business dominated the MTV Indonesia 2003 Awards, which was held at the Bung Karno Indoor Tennis Stadium in Central Jakarta on Friday evening.

The best female artist winner went to pop artist Audy. The singer also secured the award in the Most Promising and Outstanding Young Diva category.

Young figures also dominated the Video Clip of the Year, which was won by Mocca pop music group (photo above), and the Best Performance in Video category, which was won by Jody and Edwin.

Meanwhile, the Best Performance category went to new Punk Rock music group -- Superman is Dead.

However, the Best Male Artist award went to senior pop and ballad singer Iwan Fals and the Best Dangdut Artist went to female singer Iyeth Bustami.

It was the fourth award ceremony organized by the U.S.-based MTV music and entertainment television station.
