PT Yosun Tire and Rubber Indonesia, a Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) company, has announced an investment commitment of Rp 4 trillion in the Batang Industropolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Central Java.
The investment is aimed at developing an industry that supports the automotive ecosystem within the region. The planned development will span approximately 40 hectares of land and has the potential to employ around 4,000 workers.
This investment commitment was presented during the Central Java Investment Business Forum (CJIBF) 2026, organised by the Central Java Provincial Government. Weng Jisheng, General Manager of PT Yosun Tire and Rubber Indonesia, stated that Indonesia holds a strategic position for the company’s business development.
“Indonesia possesses great potential and an important position in our business expansion. We view the Batang Industropolis SEZ as having a strategic location and a continuously growing industrial ecosystem. We believe Batang can serve as the right base to support our business development, including for export markets,” Weng said in a press release on Sunday (30/08/2026).
The forum was attended by approximately 400 participants and resulted in 74 meetings from 36 business actors, which will be followed up through investment assistance. From this series of explorations, CJIBF 2026 recorded a potential investment of Rp 19.07 trillion for Central Java.
The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, stated that the regional government continues to encourage an investment climate that provides ease and certainty for the business world. According to the Central Java Provincial Government, incoming investments are expected to provide benefits through job creation, strengthening supply chains, increasing human resource capacity, and opening partnership opportunities for local businesses.
Meanwhile, the Batang Industropolis SEZ is an integrated industrial area designated as a Special Economic Zone. The area integrates industrial, logistics, commercial, and residential functions, along with supporting facilities, within a single zone.
