The Gresik Regency Government is reinforcing its commitment to clean, transparent, and high-integrity village governance through the Anti-Corruption Village pilot programme. This initiative was highlighted during a monitoring and evaluation visit for Yosowilangun Village in Manyar District, which has been proposed as a national Anti-Corruption Village model since 2025. Gresik Vice Regent Asluchul Alif expressed pride in the village’s selection, stating that its status as a pilot project should serve as motivation for other villages to improve their governance. Alif noted that the commitment is strengthened by Gresik Regent Regulation Number 61 of 2023 concerning the Development of Integrity Zones towards an Anti-Corruption Village designation. Andhika Widiarto, Head of the Task Force from the KPK’s Directorate of Public Participation Development, explained that the programme seeks to identify exemplary villages that can act as benchmarks for others nationwide. Maryadi Noor, Special Inspector from the East Java Provincial Inspectorate, outlined five key pillars for achieving an anti-corruption village: effective village administration, strengthened supervision, improved public service quality, active community participation, and the cultivation of an anti-corruption culture. He emphasised that the ongoing evaluation is not a mere formality but a crucial step to ensure consistent improvement. During the session, Yosowilangun Village Head Abdur Rosyid presented the implementation of these indicators, including the integration of local wisdom to foster a culture of integrity. The monitoring concluded with feedback from the KPK assessment team to refine the village’s bid to become a national role model for clean and accountable governance.
