Bengkulu, VIVA – The Indonesian Coffee Association (ASKI) Bengkulu Province was officially inaugurated at the Ballroom of Hotel Two K Azana Style Bengkulu on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. During the inauguration, Yosia Yodan was officially confirmed as the General Chairman of ASKI Bengkulu for the new term. In addition to the General Chairman, the board members were also installed, namely General Secretary Fernando Sijabat and General Treasurer Muhamad Zaki, along with all members of the Indonesian Coffee Association Bengkulu Province. The installation was carried out directly by the central ASKI board, attended by Central General Chairman ASKI Irsan, Central General Secretary ASKI Muh. Dwiki Cahyadi, and Deputy General Chairman Central ASKI Halim Ritonga. In his speech, Yosia Yodan expressed his commitment to promoting the development of Bengkulu coffee to compete at the national and global levels. He emphasised that Bengkulu has great coffee potential, both in terms of quality and the accompanying local wisdom. “Bengkulu coffee has a strong identity and character. Our collective task is to ensure this potential is not only known locally but can penetrate national and even international markets. ASKI Bengkulu will serve as a platform for collaboration between farmers, business actors, and policymakers to create a sustainable coffee ecosystem,” Yosia stated in his remarks on Thursday, 30 April 2026. He also added that the new leadership will focus on improving production quality, strengthening branding, and opening broader market access for coffee actors in Bengkulu. Meanwhile, Central General Chairman ASKI, Irsan, in his address, expressed high hopes for the new ASKI Bengkulu leadership to become the driving force for the coffee industry in the region. This installation marks an important momentum for the resurgence of Bengkulu’s coffee sector, while reinforcing the province’s position as one of Indonesia’s leading coffee producers. With support from various parties, ASKI Bengkulu is expected to elevate Bengkulu coffee to a higher level with strong competitiveness on the national stage. The event was also attended by several national and regional figures, including Ade Jona Prasetyo, Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission XII who is also Chairman of the Gerindra Party of North Sumatra Province and Candidate for General Chairman of BPP HIPMI; Sona Maesana, Special Staff to the Minister of Investment; and Diza Hazra Aljhosa, Deputy Mayor of Jambi who is also Former General Chairman of BPD HIPMI Jambi.
