Yonif 511 Task Force Inspects Electricity Following Fire in Lanny Jaya
Wamena (ANTARA) - The Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) of Yonif 511/DY has inspected the electrical network and enhanced the Free Health Check Programme (CKG) in Nombume Village, Makki District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan.
Danpos Malagai of the Satgas Pamtas Yonif 511/DY, Captain Sena Nurjabbar, stated in a written release in Wamena on Tuesday that this social service is a form of rapid response to the safety of residents in Nombume Village, Makki District.
“We from Satgas Pamtas Yonif 511/DY are conducting intensive inspections of the electrical installations in Nombume Village following the fire incident that struck the area, as well as checking the health of the residents to prevent various diseases,” said Sena.
According to him, the electrical network inspection is to ensure there are no short circuits that could potentially reignite a fire. In addition to technical inspections, health personnel from Pos Malagai actively visited emergency tents to thoroughly examine the victims.
“The services provided include treatment for minor illnesses, blood pressure checks, and the provision of vitamins and supplements to maintain the community’s immune system amid limited facilities post-disaster,” he said.
He explained that the inspection is part of humanitarian duties to assist the community affected by the calamity.
“We deployed a technical team to comb through the remnants of installations still connected. Our focus is to secure any peeled or damaged cables due to heat so that residents feel at ease when returning to the location,” he said.
Captain Sena added that this step is a tangible manifestation of the TNI’s care to alleviate the trauma and physical burden on the people of Papua Pegunungan impacted by the disaster.
“The electrical inspection activity ran safely and smoothly, and received appreciation from local community figures who feel helped by the readiness of Satgas Yonif 511/DY in handling disaster impacts comprehensively,” he said.
According to him, in addition to medical treatment, TNI personnel also provided psychosocial support to revive the residents’ spirits so they can recover quickly from the difficult situation.
