Yonif 511 strengthens communication with Popome traditional leaders to maintain security

The Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) of Yonif 511/DY is strengthening communication with indigenous community leaders in Popome Village, Mokoni District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Highland Papua, to jointly maintain the security situation in the area.

Sergeant Rudianto, leader of Team 3 at the Popome Post of the Yonif 511/DY Task Force, stated in a written report from Wamena on Sunday that the unit conducted visits to the homes of indigenous leaders in their area of responsibility to maintain social communication.

“The visit was carried out to strengthen ties with indigenous leaders in the assignment area so that we can jointly maintain the security situation in Popome,” he said.

“In an atmosphere filled with a sense of brotherhood, the soldiers of the Popome Post greeted and interacted with the community and the children they encountered,” he added.

He explained that this activity is part of the territorial development programme of the Yonif 511/DY Border Security Task Force, organised with the intention of strengthening the bond between the Popome Post and the local community.

“Furthermore, this activity serves as a means to listen to the grievances and aspirations of the community, as well as to provide education on the importance of maintaining security and order stability in the Highland Papua region,” he said.

Meanwhile, Regimon Murib, an indigenous community leader in Popome Village, expressed his gratitude to the soldiers of the Popom Post for their visit and expressed hope that the relationship between the community and the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) will continue to be well-maintained in the future.
