Wamena, Papua Highlands — The Border Security Task Force (Pamtas) Yonif 511/DY has strengthened educational services for children in Kampung Konikme, Yugungwi District, Lanny Jaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan.

The Pamtas Task Force’s Territorial Commander, Captain Inf Made Susila Arimbawa, said in Wamena on Wednesday that the support for education is intended to help overcome limited access to schooling in the village.

“We are showing our concern for the children around Kampung Konikme by organising teaching and learning activities to help them catch up in the learning process,” he said.

He added that the activity is also a form of care for the highland Papuan children, particularly in Kampung Konikme, in the field of education.

“We want to realise, in concrete terms, the unity of the TNI and the people by assisting local government to provide education services properly,” he stated.

“We, from the Kotis Post, have taken the initiative to create a simple learning house/classroom within the post environment to help these children obtain education as simply as possible,” he said.

He added that the learning materials taught include writing, reading, counting, and instilling the values of citizenship and discipline.

“With an interactive and friendly teaching method, the learning atmosphere is warm and enjoyable,” he said.

He stressed that this activity is part of the commitment of the Satgas Pamtas Yonif 511 Dibyatara Yodha to help raise the quality of human resources in the area of assignment.
