Wamena (ANTARA) - The Task Force (Satgas) for Border Security (Pamtas) of Yonif 136/TS is strengthening coordination with the Puncak Jaya Regency Local Government (Pemda) in Central Papua, specifically the Nume District, to maintain security stability.

The Nume Post Deputy Commander of the Satgas Pamtas Yonif 136/TS, First Lieutenant Infantry Indra Sukma Yudha, stated in a written release in Wamena on Sunday that to safeguard the security situation, support from the community and local government, particularly the district government, is required.

“In order to strengthen relations with the local government and maintain regional security stability, we conducted sympathetic patrol activities together with the Head of Nume District, Datin Wonda, in the Nume District area, Puncak Jaya Regency,” he said.

According to him, the activity was followed by visits to the district office and several institutions in the Nume District area.

“This activity aims to strengthen ties, enhance synergy among institutions, and create a safe and conducive situation within the community,” he stated.

He explained that this visit is part of the Indonesian National Army’s tangible efforts to build unity between the TNI and the people.

“Having strong relations and connections with the local government is crucial, as it serves as the main key in building effective coordination, strengthening cross-sector synergy, and ensuring that every step in the field runs in harmony to achieve stability, security, and community welfare,” he said.

He added that this activity also aims to facilitate coordination with the district government and the Customary Community Institutions (LMA) to directly understand the conditions and needs of the community.

“Through this activity, we aim to strengthen harmonious relations between the TNI, the district government, and the community so that security stability is created, supporting social and economic development in the Nume District area,” he stated.
