Yongki's execution countdown begins

SURAKARTA, Central Java: The provincial police command has a 11-member firing squad ready to execute Kartacahyadi, alias Yongki, who was sentenced to death for robbing and killing a family of three in 1990.

Central Java Police Chief Maj. Gen. Hariman said Yongki was likely to be executed in Surakarta.

Hariman said that the place and time of execution would be determined by the Surakarta district court, Antara reported.

Yongki is sure to face the firing squad of the mobile brigade because his appeal to the President for clemency was rejected. (pan)
