Yogyakarta's Little Aresha Daycare Tortures Entrusted Children, Photo of Bound Baby Goes Viral

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA – The Little Aresha childcare centre, located on Jalan Pakel Baru Utara, Sorosutan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta, was raided by police on Friday afternoon (24/4/2026). The raid was conducted following suspicions of violent acts against the children entrusted at the location. Republika’s observations at the site on Saturday (25/4/2025) showed that the daycare had been cordoned off by police tape. The courtyard area appeared closed, while several parents arrived to ascertain what had happened to their children. “It is true that the Yogyakarta Police Resort’s Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a raid on a childcare centre in the Umbulharjo area,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Yogyakarta Police Resort, Commissioner Riski Adrian, when contacted by reporters on Saturday. The case came to light after information circulated on social media, including posts alleging inhumane treatment of the children. In fact, a photo of a bound infant spread widely and triggered public reaction.
