Yogyakarta Weather Today: Rain Possible Until Evening

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Yogyakarta has issued a weather forecast for the region for today, Wednesday (28 October 2026). All areas could see widespread light rain from midday until evening, while some locations may experience rain throughout the day.

Yogyakarta City

According to BMKG Yogyakarta’s official Instagram account, @infobmkgyia, light to moderate rain could affect the whole of Yogyakarta City from midday, including the Malioboro area.

Sleman

Light to moderate rain is forecast across Sleman from midday until evening, including around Prambanan Temple.

However, Kaliurang and the slopes of Mount Merapi—including the subdistricts of Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan—could have light to moderate rain throughout the day.

Bantul

Widespread light rain is forecast across most of Bantul from midday until evening, including tourist beaches such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

Light rain is expected across Kulon Progo from midday until evening, including at coastal tourist areas such as Glagah Beach and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).

In the Menoreh Hills, including Samigaluh and Girimulyo, moderate rain could begin around midday, followed by light rain.

Gunungkidul

Light rain could affect most of Gunungkidul from midday. The district’s coastal tourist areas, including Indrayanti Beach, are expected to see rain from the evening instead.
