Yogyakarta Weather Today: Gunungkidul Likely to Experience Light Rain

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Yogyakarta issued a weather forecast for the Special Region of Yogyakarta on 18 March. There is no potential for rain across most areas of Yogyakarta today, with weather expected to be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day.

Yogyakarta City

According to BMKG Yogyakarta’s official Instagram social media account, @infobmkgyia, the entire Yogyakarta City area has no potential for rainfall today. Weather is predicted to be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day.

Sleman

The entire Sleman district is also predicted to remain dry today. Weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day, including in the Prambanan Temple area and surroundings. This extends to the Kaliurang area and the slopes of Mount Merapi, including Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan districts.

Bantul

There is no potential for rain in Bantul district today, with weather expected to be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day. This includes beach tourism areas throughout Bantul such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

The entire Kulon Progo district also has no potential for rain today, including the Menoreh Hills area, coastal areas and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). Weather is predicted to be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day.

Gunungkidul

Light rain is likely to affect most of Gunungkidul district from midday onwards. However, beach tourism areas throughout Gunungkidul such as Indrayanti Beach may experience light rainfall in the evening.
