Yogyakarta Weather Today: Cloudy With No Rain

Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) DIY has released the weather forecast for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) for today, Thursday, 8 October 2026. There is no potential for rain across the entire region today, with weather expected to be sunny to cloudy throughout the day.

Yogyakarta City

According to the official Instagram account of BMKG DIY, @infobmkgyia, the entire city of Yogyakarta is not expected to receive rainfall today. Conditions are forecast to be sunny to cloudy, remaining cloudy throughout the day.

Sleman

The whole of Sleman is also predicted to remain dry today, with sunny to cloudy weather expected throughout the day. This includes the area around Prambanan Temple and its surroundings.

The Kaliurang area and the slopes of Mount Merapi, namely the sub-districts of Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan, are also expected to stay dry.

Bantul

There is no potential for rain in Bantul today, with sunny to cloudy conditions forecast for the whole day. This includes the coastal tourist areas across Bantul, such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

Parts of Kulon Progo are also free from rain potential today, including the Menoreh Hills, the coastal areas and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). The weather is predicted to be sunny to cloudy throughout the day.

Gunungkidul

Parts of Gunungkidul are also free from rain potential today, with sunny to cloudy weather expected for the whole day. This includes the coastal tourist areas across Gunungkidul, such as Indrayanti Beach.
