Yogyakarta Weather Today: City Areas Sunny

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta has released its weather forecast for the region today, Friday 21 August 2026. Conditions across the entire region are expected to remain clear to cloudy throughout the day, though some areas will experience clearer weather than others.

Yogyakarta City

According to the official Instagram account of BMKG Yogyakarta, @infobmkgyia, no rainfall is expected anywhere in Yogyakarta City today. The weather is forecast to be clear in the morning, becoming clear to cloudy and then cloudy thereafter.

Sleman

Parts of Sleman are also forecast to remain dry today. Conditions are expected to be clear to cloudy throughout the day, including in the Prambanan Temple area and its surroundings. Other areas, such as Kaliurang and the slopes of Mount Merapi including Pakem, Turi and Cangkringan sub-districts, are expected to experience fog in the evening.

Bantul

There is no potential for rain in Bantul today, with clear to cloudy conditions expected throughout the day. This includes the coastal tourist areas across Bantul, such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

All areas of Kulon Progo are also free of rain potential today, including the Menoreh hills, coastal areas and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). The weather is forecast to be clear to cloudy, becoming heavily cloudy, throughout the day.

Gunungkidul

No rainfall is predicted anywhere in Gunungkidul today, and conditions are expected to be clearer than in other parts of the region. This includes the coastal tourist areas across Gunungkidul, such as Indrayanti Beach.
