Yogyakarta to host CGI pre-meeting
YOGYAKARTA: Around 90 foreign delegates of the Consultative Group on Indonesia (CGI) will attend a preliminary session in this tourist city on Jan. 19 before they begin convening their 12th meeting one day later in Bali.
The meeting was scheduled for Oct. 26 to Oct. 29 last year, but was postponed until Jan. 20 through Jan. 22 in Bali following the deadly bomb blasts in the resort island.
Yogyakarta administration secretary Bambang Susanto Priyohadi said here on Thursday that the preliminary session would discuss macro strategies to be included in the Bali meeting's agenda.
He said Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X would be among those to address the preliminary meeting about good governance.
On the sidelines of the session, at least 14 provincial governors will be given a chance to have talks with the 90 delegates representing the 30 CGI member countries, Bambang added. --JP
