Yogyakarta Special Region Weather Forecast: Jogja Blanketed in Thick Clouds

The Yogyakarta Special Region’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released today’s weather forecast. Early June sees no rainfall expected across most areas, with skies predicted to remain overcast throughout the day. According to BMKG Yogyakarta’s official Instagram @infobmkgyia on Monday (1 June 2026), all areas of Jogja City are not expected to experience rain today, with skies forecast to be cloudy to heavily overcast all day. Parts of Sleman are also forecast to remain dry today, with cloudy to heavily overcast skies throughout the day, including the Prambanan Temple area. However, Kaliurang and the Merapi Mountain slopes, specifically in the Pakem, Turi, and Cangkringan sub-districts, may experience light rain from midday onwards. Bantul is expected to have no rain today, with cloudy to heavily overcast skies throughout the day, including coastal tourist areas such as Parangtritis Beach. Parts of Kulon Progo will also see no rain today, including the Menoreh Hills, coastal areas, and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), with skies forecast to remain cloudy to heavily overcast all day. All areas of Gunungkidul are expected to remain rain-free today, with cloudy to heavily overcast skies throughout the day, including popular beaches such as Indrayanti Beach.
