Homebound travellers heading to the Special Region of Yogyakarta, particularly Sleman District, will be able to utilise the toll-free expressway after the Yogyakarta-Solo toll road’s Prambanan-Purwomartani segment is opened functionally.

The toll, located in Kalasan District, Sleman District, will be used exclusively for exiting the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Bachtiar Yusuf, the Manager of Yogyakarta-Solo Toll Road Control (Package 1.2), explained that the Purwomartani-Prambanan toll will be opened functionally from 14 March 2026 to 29 March 2026. Operating hours will run from 06:00 WIB to 18:00 WIB.

“For the evening period, we will not open it temporarily because lighting is not yet optimal,” he stated.

Previously, the Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono, explained that the activation of the Purwomartani Toll had passed a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation. “The usage will be for one-way traffic exiting the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province,” he said during a press conference at the Coordination Meeting of Regional Leadership Forum at the Provincial Government Office in Yogyakarta on Tuesday (10 March).

The activation of this segment is expected to further accelerate the flow of homebound travellers, predicted to reach 8.2 million.

According to him, the toll road will be planned to function as a one-way route to assist vehicle flow exiting the Yogyakarta region after the peak arrival of homebound travellers.

The policy was prepared considering the high level of population mobility predicted to enter the Yogyakarta region during the homebound period.
