Yogyakarta School Incorporates Earthquake Simulation into Orientation Programme

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Stella Duce 2 Junior High School in Yogyakarta held a disaster simulation activity in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as part of school-based mitigation education and a crucial step to minimise the risk of casualties.

This activity was part of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS). Beyond ensuring that MPLS is not solely filled with classroom and teacher introductions, the simulation was held so that students and teachers know how to save themselves during an earthquake by independently implementing preparedness measures, such as taking cover, evacuating, gathering at assembly points, and administering first aid during emergency situations.
