Yogyakarta Police Deactivate and Detain Intelligence Officer Accused of Extorting Property Developer
The Yogyakarta Special Region Police (Polda DIY) have deactivated a member of the Bantul Police Intelligence and Security Unit (Satintelkam) identified by the initial S, who was reported on suspicion of extorting a property development company.
Under Security Order Number Sprin. Pam/1/II/2026, dated 20 February 2026, Polda DIY has placed the officer in Special Detention (Patsus) and deactivated his status as a member of the Bantul Police Satintelkam.
Polda DIY Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Ihsan, stated that the deactivation and special detention measures were taken to facilitate the officer’s examination by the Professional and Security Division (Propam).
Ihsan explained that Polda DIY’s Propam Division immediately conducted examinations of a number of witnesses, including the reported officer, upon receiving the complaint from the reporting party.
He described the measures as a demonstration of the force’s commitment and seriousness in handling the matter to safeguard the integrity and dignity of the institution.
“We wish to convey that the individual concerned has now undergone special detention and has been deactivated from duty for the purposes of the Propam investigation,” Ihsan said in his statement.
Ihsan emphasised that Polda DIY will not tolerate any form of misconduct committed by its members. The force is fully committed to handling this case in a transparent and accountable manner.
“We assure that the process will be conducted professionally and accountably as a form of our commitment to the public,” he said.
