Yogyakarta PMI Receives Rp3.3 Billion Medical Equipment Grant to Enhance Services
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has received grants for medical equipment in phases two and three from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) via the central PMI, bringing the total value of all phases to Rp3.3 billion.
The aid was handed over by the Chairman of the DIY PMI Honorary Council, KGPAA Paku Alam X, to PMI units across DIY, attended by representatives from the Health Department, Social Department, DIY Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), DIY Scout Council, DIY National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), RAPI, and the Yogyakarta Health Quarantine Centre, at the DIY PMI headquarters in Sleman on Tuesday.
The support, backed by the Japanese government and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), includes clinical support devices, emergency equipment, and basic diagnostic tools necessary to enhance the quality of health services at PMI facilities.
The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the DIY PMI Honorary Council, KGPAA Paku Alam X, expressed appreciation and gratitude in his remarks for the aid that strengthens preparedness and improves the quality of health services in facing potential public health emergencies.
“This assistance represents a tangible manifestation of our collective commitment to strengthening preparedness and enhancing the quality of health services, particularly in addressing various potential public health emergencies,” he said.
“I hope this aid serves as motivation for PMI across DIY to innovate creatively in developing resources, such as diversifying income, improving human resource competencies, and utilising technology, so that PMI services remain sustainable and continue to serve the community as mandated by Law Number 1 of 2018 on the Red Cross,” he added.
The Chairman of DIY PMI, GBPH Prabukusumo, explained that this medical aid consists of phases two and three worth more than Rp2.7 billion, while the first phase was delivered in November 2025 worth Rp642 million, making the total for all phases more than Rp3.3 billion.
In the first phase, DIY PMI received 84 units (11 types of items), and in phases two and three, 143 units (28 types of items), including bedside monitors, EKGs, 2D ultrasounds, IV poles and accessories, examination lamps, emergency trolleys, blenders, dry heat sterilisers, ambulance stretchers, basket stretchers, and body splints.
Additionally, long spine boards, scoop stretchers, AEDs, adult nebuliser masks, paediatric nebuliser masks, adult ambubags, paediatric ambubags, suction pumps, portable two-cylinder suction pumps, vaccine refrigerators, emergency transport ventilators, sphygmomanometers, oxygen cylinders, and stethoscopes.
