Yogyakarta-Palur Commuter Line Users Reach 4.7 Million in First Half of 2026
The Yogyakarta-Palur Commuter Line served 4,714,539 passengers in the first half of 2026, according to KAI Commuter. This figure represents a 6.82% increase compared to the 4,413,690 passengers recorded during the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Prameks Commuter Line (Yogyakarta-Kutoarjo) served 585,027 passengers, an increase of 6.4%.
KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda stated that Yogyakarta Station recorded the highest volume of users among stations in the Area 6 operational region, with 1,581,177 passengers. Lempuyangan Station followed with 621,049 passengers, and Palur Station with 533,488 passengers.
During the school holiday period from 20 June to 1 July 2026, KAI Commuter recorded 360,629 passengers using services in the Yogyakarta area. To accommodate the surge and provide extra comfort, the operator added four additional trips on the Yogyakarta-Palur route, bringing the total to 31 trips per day. Yogyakarta Station saw an average of 9,000 to 10,000 passengers boarding daily during this peak season. KAI Commuter also increased service facilities and deployed additional personnel to ensure smooth, safe, and comfortable operations.
