Yogyakarta hosts children's congress

JAKARTA: The National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas
PA) will organize the 4th Congress for Indonesian Children in
Yogyakarta next month.

Commission chairman Seto Mulyadi said after a meeting with
deputy House speaker Muhaimin Iskandar here on Friday that the
congress would focus on efforts to stop all forms of
exploitation, discrimination and violence against children.

Muhaimin, the deputy House speaker for people's welfare, was
invited to speak during the event.

Minister of Social Affairs Bachtiar Chamsyah is expected to
open the event.

At the end of the congress, children's advocates will submit
recommendations to the President. -- JP
