Yogyakarta High Prosecutor's Office Eyes Additional Suspects in Ex-Concat Village Chief Corruption Case
The Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati DIY) has opened the possibility of additional suspects in the investigation of alleged corruption regarding the misuse of Village Treasury Land (TKD) in Condongcatur Village, Depok, Sleman. Investigators are currently continuing to deepen their probe into the matter.
Langgeng Prabowo, Head of the Legal Information Section of Kejati DIY, stated that the investigation process is ongoing. Currently, Kejati DIY has named two suspects: the former Village Head of Condongcatur, Reno Candra Sangaji, and a former village official (Jagabaya) with the initial K.
“The investigation process is still underway; if there are other parties supported by strong evidence, they will certainly be pursued,” Langgeng told media via a short message on Wednesday (1/7/2026).
In addition to the potential for more suspects, Langgeng mentioned that investigators may also examine other parties as witnesses if required to strengthen the evidence in the case.
Previously, the former Village Head of Condongcatur, Reno Candra Sangaji (RCS), was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the misuse of Village Treasury Land, specifically regarding plot 88 in the Pringwulung hamlet, Condongcatur, Sleman. This designation was made by Kejati DIY based on official decrees dated 30 June 2022.
“On Tuesday, 30 June 2026, the investigators from the Special Crimes Division of the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, based on two sufficient pieces of evidence, have upgraded the status of two witnesses, initials K (former Jagabaya) and RCS (former Village Head), to suspects,” explained Langgeng.
In addition to examining witnesses, investigators have conducted searches and seized approximately 81 documents related to the case, as well as a sum of money suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity. Investigators have also obtained the results of a state financial loss audit from the BPKP DIY, which covers the period from January 2017 to March 2025.
The role of Reno and K in this case involved officials who were responsible for ensuring that village treasury land was not misused, yet they allegedly permitted and authorised its lease to third parties without obtaining permission from the Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. The leasing of the land did not comply with regional regulations regarding the management and utilisation of Sultanate and Regency lands.
“The actions of the suspects have resulted in financial losses to the State, specifically to the Condongcatur Village Government, and provided unlawful benefits to unauthorised parties amounting to Rp 4,224,342,510.90,” Langgeng explained.
For investigation purposes, the suspect with the initial K has been detained at the Class IIa Yogyakarta Prison for 20 days, effective from 30 June 2026 to 19 July 2026. Meanwhile, the suspect RCS has not been detained as he is already serving detention for a separate case.
The suspects are charged with violating various articles of the Indonesian Law on the Eradication of Corruption, including primary and subsidiary charges related to the misuse of authority and causing state financial losses.
