Yogyakarta gears up for tourism expo

YOGYAKARTA: Following the success of hosting last year's Tourism Indonesia Mart and Expo (TIME), or Pasar Wisata Indonesia as it is more popularly known here, Yogyakarta is ready to host TIME 2005 this Sept. 23 to Sept. 26.

According to a release made available to The Jakarta Post, TIME 2005 will accommodate the interests of those who sell Indonesia's tourism products and services on the international market.

The event will promote many of the country's tourist attractions including popular tourist destinations, top tourist activities and new tourism products.

The organizing committee has so far registered 126 sellers representing 20 provinces across Indonesia and 86 buyer delegates representing 26 countries including Australia, South Africa, the Netherlands, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, India, Italy, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the U.S. and Vietnam.

Last year's event was participated in by 102 buyers from 28 countries and 147 sellers representing 20 provinces from across Indonesia. --JP
