Yogyakarta City Government to Hold Job Fair at LPP Auditorium Tomorrow
The Yogyakarta City Government, through its Social, Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Dinsosnakertrans), is holding the Jogja Job Fair. Don’t forget to prepare your curriculum vitae (CV)!
The Jogja Job Fair will take place on 15-16 July 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 WIB. The event will be held at the auditorium of the LPP Yogyakarta Plantation Education Institute on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Klitren, Gondokusuman, Jogja.
Acting Head of the Jogja City Dinsosnakertrans, Patricia Heny Dian Anitasari, said thousands of vacancies from dozens of companies would be on offer at the Job Fair, which carries the tagline ‘From the Lying-Down Generation to the Wage-Earning Generation’. This includes job openings specifically for people with disabilities.
“The entire event is free of charge. The recruitment process will be conducted transparently by each participating company,” Heny explained in a written statement on Tuesday (14/7/2026).
“Through this Job Fair, we are also committed to providing equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities. There are several dedicated vacancies facilitated by the Yogyakarta City Employment Services Unit,” she continued.
This edition of the Jogja Job Fair is providing roughly 2,000 job vacancies from around 29 companies, spanning various sectors such as retail, services, manufacturing, information technology, finance, healthcare, culinary, and others.
Beyond job vacancies, four Job Training Institutes (LPK) will also be present to provide information on skills development for the public. In addition, the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP3MI) will offer information as well as formal and safe overseas employment opportunities.
For those unsure about choosing a job or career path, the Job Fair will also feature free career counselling. The counselling service will help jobseekers who are still confused identify which vacancies best match their competencies.
“This opens up an opportunity for all of us to make the most of the available vacancies, so that residents of Jogja who are not yet working can find employment suited to their aspirations and competencies,” Heny explained.
Erna Nur Setyaningsih, Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Development Division at the Yogyakarta City Dinsosnakertrans, added that according to Statistics Agency (BPS) data, unemployment in Jogja stands at 5.72 per cent.
Meanwhile, 2025 data from the Yogyakarta City Dinsosnakertrans puts the number of unemployed at around 2,336 people. Most of the unemployed are senior high school graduates. For this reason, the majority of vacancies at the Jogja Job Fair are in retail, giving SMA/SMK graduates a good chance.
“It is true that Jogja is not an industrial area. Even so, we are still making the effort to organise this job fair in the hope of giving the people of Yogyakarta City in particular, and the wider public of course, the opportunity to keep up with developments and the job vacancies available in Jogja,” Erna concluded.
