Yogyakarta Arts Festival opens
YOGYAKARTA: The 14th two-day Yogyakarta Arts Festival opened on Friday evening with performances staged along the city's main roads.
Various performing artists from both modern and traditional performing art groups as well as district artist representatives performed various attractions.
The performances started at Purawisata complex on Jl. Brijen Katamso, then proceeded along Jl. Parangtritis, Jl. Mangkuyudan and ended up at Minggiran Square in Mantrijeron district.
A number of attractions, including a Chinese dragon dance, a Javanese traditional Ketoprak drama and a shadow puppet enlivened Minggiran Square. --Antara
