Yogyakarta airport reopened
YOGYAKARTA: The Adisucipto airport was reopened yesterday after being closed on Friday following a plane accident that disrupted traffic.
Soelaeman S., head of the Yogyakarta chapter of the state's airport management company Perum Angkasa Pura, said that the DC-9 airplane of the Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MNA), which had blocked the runway of the airport, was removed from the strip and put in the hangar on Saturday night.
The airplane, when it landed at the airport on Friday afternoon, skidded off the runway when the front wheels of the airplane failed.
