JAKARTA: The Yogyakarta governor, Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, is leading a delegation to the Czech Republic to strengthen cooperation between Yogyakarta and that country, the Czech Embassy in Jakarta announced on Thursday.

"The sultan and his delegation arrived in Prague on Monday at the invitation of Prague Mayor Pavel Bem and will leave the Czech Republic on Friday. During his stay in Prague, the sultan met the President of the Czech Senate, Premysl Sobotka, Mayor Bem and several CEOs of Czech companies," the Czech Embassy's Charge d'Affaires ad interim Jiri Vobis told The Jakarta Post.

Jiri said the sultan was scheduled to meet Czech Minister of Transportation Milan Simonovsky on Thursday. The Czech Ambassador to Indonesia Jaroslav Vesely, who is presently on vacation in Prague, accompanied the Indonesian delegation during their meetings with their Czech counterparts.
