YKPJ boosts breast cancer campaign

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Breast Health Foundation (YKPJ) plans to start an intensified campaign on breast cancer awareness particularly among women this month through what it called the pink ribbon movement.

YKPJ, which was previously called the Jakarta Breast Cancer Foundation, said in a statement issued on Tuesday that as a first step of the campaign the organization would launch the country's first mobile mammography facility.

The organization is also developing a new website, and launching more activities in October.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), some 7 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, of which 5 million end in death.
