Jakarta – A total of 50 housewives participated in a Viral Takjil Baking Workshop held at the Jatisampurna Village Hall in Bekasi City, West Java, recently. The training, organised by Yayasan Indonesia Setara (YIS) together with SKIES Indonesia, invited participants to prepare viral takjil food items such as matcha risoles and melting cheese dimsum.

YIS Founder Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno explained that the training forms part of the women’s empowerment programme across various regions. He stated that in this programme, participants are not only taught baking skills, but also social media marketing through flyer design creation using artificial intelligence (AI).

“So in line with the theme, ‘Viral Takjil Baking Workshop’, how can the women earn income in this blessed month,” said Sandiaga in a press statement in Jakarta on Monday (15/3/2026).

According to him, through a month-long mentoring programme, the women can receive capital assistance in the form of free raw materials and online mentoring. Thus, they can build UMKM networks to encourage sustainable sales and economic independence.

“The most important thing is that the women can become self-reliant through home-based businesses, which can subsequently develop after Ramadan and beyond, amen,” said Sandiaga.
